Daikin stock volume spike – anyone else invested?

Just saw this article about Daikin trading volume going nuts. I know they make compressors for HVAC, but never thought about their stock. Anyone here follow them? Seems like a solid company.

I wouldn't touch that stock. Daikin is huge in Japan but their US market share is meh. Plus, with inflation and supply chain issues, I'd stick to tools you can hold.

Actually, Daikin owns a bunch of compressor patents, and they supply parts for a lot of industrial units. Trading volume could mean a buyout or new contract. But I'm no financial advisor lol.

Maybe sell high? I saw they had a recall on some AC units last year. But if the volume is strong, might be a short squeeze. Not my cup of tea though, I prefer dividend stocks.
