Just saw this article about Fresno City College's new Advanced Transportation Center. Sounds like they're trying to fast-track technicians. What do you all think? Is this the solution to the shortage? Link: https://example.com/news/fresno-city-college-advanced-transportation-center

Seems like a solid idea to me. I'm all for hands-on training early. Back in my day, we learned on the job, but if a school can get you certified quickly, why not? Might help with the shortage for sure.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Training is great, but you can't replace experience. They better have strict safety protocols if they're pushing out techs fast. Seen too many corners cut in the name of speed.

Interesting. As a weekend warrior, I wish I had that kind of training. But for pros, I wonder if employers will value these fast-track certs. My buddy says some shops only want old-school experience.

Good points all. Wendy, you're right about safety - hope they emphasize that. Bob, I think employer acceptance will be key. Maybe if big shops get on board, it'll catch on.
