Just saw this article about Ingersoll Rand stock underperforming. They make most of my shop's compressors. Think this will mean discounts or price hikes? Curious what you guys think.

I wouldn't hold my breath for discounts. IR has too much brand loyalty. But if their stock is down, maybe they'll cut costs and that could mean cheaper entry-level models. I'm watching the used market too.

Underperformance doesn't always mean bad products. It could be supply chain or market shifts. I'm more worried about parts availability. Last thing I need is a backordered unloader valve.

As a contractor, I depend on IR for job site compressors. If they start cutting corners to boost stock, that's a problem. But honestly, their stuff is built tough. Stock is for investors, not users.

I'm sticking with Makita anyway. But IR has good stuff. If their stock drops, maybe I can snag a deal on a used unit from a contractor upgrading. Keep an eye on liquidation sales.
