IR stock underperforming? What does that mean for my workshop?

Just read this article about Ingersoll Rand stock lagging behind the industrial sector. I've got one of their 60gal compressors and it's been a beast for years. Does this mean they're in trouble? Should I be worried about parts availability or warranty support? What do you guys think?

Honestly, I wouldn't sweat it. IR is a huge company, they've got their fingers in a lot of pies. Stock performance doesn't always reflect product quality. My old IR compressor is still going strong after 15 years. I'd be more concerned if they started cutting corners on build quality. I bet they'll bounce back.

Yeah, stock fluctuations happen all the time. But I've noticed some of their newer models use more plastic parts than the old ones. That might be a cost-cutting measure. I'd say keep using your compressor but maybe buy a rebuild kit now just in case parts get scarce. I've been happy with my Quincy though, so maybe I'm biased lol.

IR is solid but I switched to DeWalt compressors years ago. Never looked back. DeWalt's stock has been doing great too. But seriously, IR has been around for over a century, they're not going anywhere. The article says they're underperforming the sector, not that they're dying. I'd just keep using what you got and not worry about it.
