I know it's not as loud as a jackhammer, but that constant hiss and the motor noise really adds up. Protect your hearing, folks! Pick up some decent ear muffs or plugs.

I actually use a set of Bluetooth ear muffs so I can listen to podcasts while I work. Makes it a win-win. They work pretty well, Rick. They've got active noise reduction, so they cut down the background hum, and I can still hear someone if they talk loudly. The only thing is, if the compressor kicks on suddenly, the sound through the muffs can be a bit muffled, but that's fine. Just make sure you get a decent brand—the cheap ones aren't worth it. And remember, don't crank the volume—protect your ears, not damage them more!
