What respirator do you use when painting with compressor?

Hey folks, I've been using my compressor for spraying some oil-based paint. I've got a cheap dust mask but I think I need a proper respirator. What do you guys use? I want something that seals well and doesn't fog up my glasses.

Good call on upgrading! For oil-based paints, you definitely need an organic vapor cartridge. I use a 3M half-face respirator with 6000 series cartridges. Make sure it's NIOSH approved. And fit test it—no point if you've got gaps!

I'm a DeWalt guy so I got their respirator. Works great, but honestly any 3M or Moldex will do. Just make sure you get the right filters. And don't cheap out on the pre-filters, they're worth it.

I've got a whole collection of masks haha. For spraying I use a full-face respirator by 3M, the 6900 series. It's a bit pricey but no fogging issues and gives eye protection too. Worth it if you do a lot of painting.
