Anyone else rockin' safety glasses under their welding hood?

I know we all hear it, but I gotta say: I got a face full of grinding dust today cause I was too lazy to grab my safety glasses under the hood. Don't be like me! Anyone else got a PPE story that made them re-think shortcuts?

Preach, Sam. I had a chisel slip and pop me in the cheek once. Now I wear a full face shield even for simple cuts. Saved my grill more than once. Side question: any recommendations for anti-fog spray for safety glasses? Foggin' up drives me nuts.

Oh man, I learned the hard way when I was a newbie. Was using an angle grinder without gloves and the kickback sent my hand into the disc. 20 stitches! Now I wear cut-resistant gloves and safety glasses always. As for anti-fog, I just use a dab of dish soap, rub it in, then rinse. Works better than the sprays imo.

Dish soap trick, noted! And Tim, that sounds rough. Glad you're still in the game. I think we all get complacent sometimes. My new rule: if I'm walking into the shop, PPE goes on. No exceptions.

Same here. I've got hooks by the door with earmuffs, glasses, and gloves. Hard habit to start but easy once it's routine. Stay safe out there guys.
