Building a raised garden bed – what circular saw?

Hey y'all, gonna build a raised garden bed this weekend, maybe 4ft by 8ft out of cedar. My old circular saw died. I'm thinking cordless, but budget is around $150. Need something that'll cut 2x4s and 2x6s clean. Any recommendations? Brand loyalties? I'm leaning Makita but open.

Ive got a DeWalt 20V and it's been solid for me. Cuts through pressure treated like butter. Only issue is battery life if you're doing a bunch of cuts, but for a single project it's fine. Makita is good too though. Just get a good blade, that matters more than the saw imo.

At that price point, look at the Ryobi brushless. I know they get some hate but honestly for weekend stuff it's perfect. Plus they have a ton of other tools that share batteries. I built a whole shed with mine and it didn't skip a beat. Just my 2 cents!

Thanks guys. I was worried about Ryobi but if it worked for a shed maybe I'll give it a shot. Any specific model? Also, what blade do you recommend for cedar? I heard triple chip grind is best for hardwoods but cedar is soft.

For cedar just a standard 40-tooth combo blade will do. Diablo makes a good one. Don't overthink it. Also, make sure you get a saw with a decent shoe (base plate) that won't flex. That's where cheaper saws fail.
