DeWalt vs Makita impact wrench - which one for my truck?

So I'm looking to buy a cordless impact wrench for working on my F-150. I've narrowed it down to DeWalt or Makita. I know both are good brands, but which one would you guys recommend for automotive work? I'm talking about lug nuts, suspension, etc. I've got a mix of batteries already but mostly DeWalt. Should I stick with one system or is Makita worth switching for? Appreciate any advice!

Honestly, for automotive, I'd look at the specs more than the brand. Both DeWalt and Makita have high-torque models that'll handle most DIY stuff. But if you're on a budget, check out the DeWalt DCF899 – it's often on sale and gets the job done. I've had mine for 3 years, no issues. Makita might be slightly more refined, but you're paying extra for the name. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the replies. Budget isn't a huge issue, but I don't want to waste money. I've heard the DeWalt DCF899 is a tank. How's the battery life on the Makita? I do a lot of weekend projects so I need something that lasts.

Battery life is great with the 5.0Ah packs. I can do a full brake job and rotate tires on one charge. But if you already have DeWalt batteries, the DCF899 is probably the smarter move. It's got 700 ft-lbs of torque, which is plenty. Plus, you can use the same batteries in other tools. Stick with what you got, man.
