Hey everyone, I'm looking to buy a 1/2" impact wrench for working on my truck. I'm torn between the DeWalt DCF900 and the Makita XWT08Z. Any experience with either? I've heard DeWalt has more torque but Makita is lighter. Thoughts?

I've used both on site. The DeWalt hits harder but it's a brick. For working under a truck, you'll appreciate the Makita's weight. But if you need max power for seized bolts, the DeWalt wins. Depends what matters more to you.

I'm a Makita guy through and through. The XWT08 has never let me down, even on heavy jobs. Plus the brushless motor and battery life are top-notch. But I'll concede DeWalt has a slight edge in raw torque. Try holding both in store – ergonomics matter.

Thanks for the input. I'm leaning Makita for the weight savings. But I need it to last. Any reliability issues with either?

I run both brands daily. Dewalt's durability is second to none – I've dropped mine off ladders and it keeps going. Makita is good but their batteries can swell over time. If you're only occasional use, either will be fine. But for pro use, I'd go DeWalt.
