Just a friendly reminder: wear nitrile gloves when bleeding brakes. I got DOT 3 on my hands yesterday and it burned like crazy. Also, that stuff eats paint. Don't learn the hard way!

Good tip, Chris. I always double-glove for brake jobs. Also, safety glasses are a must - that fluid can splash. Had a buddy get it in his eye once. Not fun.

Thanks for the heads up. I was just about to do a brake flush on my truck. What kind of gloves do you guys use? I have some cheap latex ones but they always tear.

Rick, get some 6-8 mil nitrile for sure. Latex won't hold up against solvents. I get the blue ones from Harbor Freight, cheap and work fine.

Another thing - long sleeves. I've got a scar from a hot rotor that touched my forearm. PPE is cheap, skin grafts ain't.
