Just saw this article about Fresno City College's 'Nearly Certified on Day One' program. Sounds like they're trying to fast-track techs into the workforce. With the shortage we're all feeling, seems like a smart move. What do you guys think? https://example.com/article

I've been in the trades for 40 years, and let me tell you, there's no substitute for hands-on experience. These fast-track programs worry me a bit – you can't learn everything in a classroom. But I guess if it gets people interested and they learn on the job, it's better than nothing.

I'm all for anything that gets more people into the trades. We've been screaming for help for years. But yeah, Larry's got a point. I've seen too many 'certified' guys who can't diagnose a simple electrical issue. Hope the program includes plenty of lab time.

I think it's a step in the right direction. The automotive industry is changing fast with EVs and all that. Maybe this program helps them focus on the essentials. Plus, if they get 'nearly certified' day one, that means they still need mentorship. Could be a good pipeline.
