Just saw this deal pop up on my feed. Hart 140-Piece Mechanics Tool Set for $70 with free shipping. I've been looking for a decent starter set for my garage. Anyone have experience with Hart tools? Are they any good for weekend DIY stuff?

I grabbed one a few months back. For $70 it's a solid deal. The ratchets feel a bit clunky compared to my Snap-on but honestly for the price it's hard to beat. The case is nice too. Good for getting started without breaking the bank.

I've restored a few classic cars and I'm all about quality tools. But I picked up a Hart set for my nephew. For casual use it's fine. Don't expect to use it every day for years though. The sockets seem okay but the ratchets might skip under heavy torque. Keep that in mind.

Thanks guys. I think I'll grab one while it's on sale. Can't beat that price for a full set. If it gets me through oil changes and brake jobs it's worth it.

Yeah, for light to medium duty it's a steal. Just don't go trying to break loose rusted bolts with the 1/2 drive, use a breaker bar. Oh and the case organizers are kinda flimsy, so be careful when closing it. Lost a socket once.
