New tariffs on tools? What does this mean for us DIYers?

Hey everyone, saw this article about new unfair-trade probes and tariffs. Seems like Trump is ramping up the tariff pressure again. What do you all think? Will this affect the prices of our beloved tools? I'm worried my weekend projects are gonna get more expensive.

I read that too. Tariffs on Chinese goods could hit power tools hard. Most of my stuff is from DeWalt and Milwaukee, but even they manufacture some parts overseas. Might be a good time to stock up on consumables like blades and bits before prices go up.

As an apprentice, I'm already struggling to afford good tools. If prices go up, I might have to stick with the cheap stuff longer. But hey, maybe it'll push companies to make more stuff in the USA? That could be a good thing in the long run.

I'm a loyal DeWalt guy, but I also love my Milwaukee and Makita. Tariffs could mess with the supply chain. I remember when Trump first imposed tariffs, prices on some tools went up. I say buy now if you need something. Also, check used markets – people might be selling off gear if times get tough.
