Hey guys, found this deal and thought I'd share. Stalwart 12V cordless drill and driver set for $52 with free shipping. Looks like a budget option, but I'm skeptical about the quality. What do you all think? Is this a good buy for the casual DIYer or should I steer clear?

I've seen that brand around, mostly at discount stores. For $52 you get a drill and a bunch of bits? If it's for light stuff like assembling furniture or hanging pictures, it might be okay. But don't expect it to last if you're gonna be drilling through concrete or thick hardwood. It's a starter set, I guess.

I've picked up a few budget tools in my time. The Stalwart 12V is fine for occasional use, but the battery life is probably not great. And when it dies, good luck finding replacements. I'd say save your money and get something like a DeWalt or Makita if you plan on doing more serious work. But if it's just for around the house, it's not the worst deal.

Thanks for the input, guys. I was leaning towards skipping it, but now I'm not so sure. I'm just a weekend warrior, so maybe it's fine for me. But the battery concern is real. I'll keep an eye out for something with a lithium battery and a warranty.
