Hey guys, I'm finally done restoring my '65 Mustang and I need a vacuum that can handle fine dust and pet hair without scratching the paint. I've been looking at the Milwaukee 0880-20 and the DeWalt DCV580. Any experience with these? I need something with good suction but not too bulky. Also, I want a HEPA filter option. Thanks!

I'd go with the Milwaukee. It's got a sealed HEPA filter and the suction is no joke. I use mine for drywall dust and it doesn't clog easily. Just make sure you get the right attachments for car detailing. And wear a mask, that fine dust is nasty!

If you want versatility, check out the Ridgid WD4070. It's a 4-gallon wet/dry vac with a car detailing kit. It's cheaper than Milwaukee and DeWalt, and Ridgid's warranty is lifetime. I've got like 5 vacuums but that one's my go-to for cars.

I restored a '72 Chevelle last year and used the Shop-Vac 5986100 with a HEPA filter. It's affordable and works great. But honestly, for detailing, you might want a dedicated car vac like the Vacmaster Beast. It's 5 peak HP and has a 6-gallon capacity, but it's still portable. Just my two cents.
