Just saw this article about Webber Family Motors in Detroit Lakes expanding and adding two car washes. Seems like a big move for a dealership. What do you guys think? Smart diversification or too risky? Link: [article URL]

I think it's a solid move. Car washes have good margins and steady repeat business. Plus, it brings in customers who might check out the dealership. I've seen other dealers do similar things. Probably a smart play.

But is it really worth the investment? Car washes are expensive to build and maintain. And with water restrictions in some areas, could be a headache. I'd rather see them put that money into service bays or something.

Good points, Sam. But maybe they have the capital and see a gap in the market. Detroit Lakes is growing, right? Could be a good long-term bet. Bob, you got experience with auto-related businesses?

Yeah, I built a couple of quick lube places and a car wash back in '08. The key is location and maintenance. If they partner with a good equipment supplier, it can be a cash cow. But yeah, upfront cost is high.
