Hey guys, been using a shop vac for my car but it's a pain to lug out. Looking at the DeWalt 20V and Makita 18V X2 cordless stick vacs. Which one has better suction and battery life for quick interior cleanups? I've got both battery platforms so that's not a decider.

Go DeWalt all the way! I've had the DeWalt DCV580 for years and it's a beast. The cyclonic action keeps the filter clean and the suction is almost as good as a corded. Plus the build quality is rock solid. Makita's plastic feels cheap in comparison.

I had the Makita and returned it. The trigger lock kept failing and the suction dropped off after a few uses. Maybe I got a lemon, but my buddy's DeWalt has been going strong for 2 years now. Just my 2 cents.

Whoa there, you guys are biased! I run a crew and we beat the crap out of our Makita 18V X2 vac daily. It's got 2 batteries so runtime is epic, and the HEPA filter actually works. The DeWalt is nice but it's louder and the brushless motor on the Makita outlasts it. Plus, Makita's warranty is better. No contest.

Thanks for the insights! Sounds like both have their fans. I think I'll hit up the local store and try holding both to see which feels better. Leaning toward Makita for the dual battery setup since I've already got the chargers. Appreciate the help!
