DeWalt vs Makita car vacuum - which one actually sucks? (in a good way!)

Hey everyone! So my trusty old shop vac finally kicked the bucket (RIP, it ate one too many drywall screws). I'm looking to get a dedicated car vacuum and I'm stuck between DeWalt and Makita. I've got batteries for both brands already, so that's not a dealbreaker. What I care about: suction power (duh), ease of emptying, and whether the crevice tool actually reaches between seats without needing a contortionist. Anyone got firsthand experience with either? Bonus points if you've used both! TIA!

I've got the Makita 18v handheld and it's been solid for quick cleanups in the truck. Suction is decent for crumbs and sawdust, but don't expect it to pull up wet mud or anything heavy. The filter clogs kinda fast if you're doing a lot of fine dust. Emptying is easy though - just twist off the bottom. My only gripe: the crevice tool is a bit short for deep seat crevices. I usually end up using a separate extension. Haven't tried the DeWalt, so curious what others say.

Been a DeWalt guy for 30 years, but I'll give you the straight dope. Their 20v vacuum is a beast for its size - great suction, and the FDA... I mean the filter is washable, which is nice. But the latch on the dust bin feels flimsy on newer models. I've had mine for 2 years and it's still going, but I treat it gentle. If you're rough on tools (like me), you might want to check the Makita's build quality. Either way, get a brush attachment for pet hair - lifesaver.

Thanks guys! @PlumberPaul535 that's exactly the kinda detail I needed about the crevice tool. @GearHeadGary800 good to know about the latch - I am NOT gentle lol. Anyone else? Maybe someone who's done a side-by-side?

Oh, one more thing - if you go Makita, get the newer model with the improved filter. The old one was a pain to clean. And don't bother with the HEPA filter unless you have allergies; it kills suction. Just my 2 cents.
