DeWalt vs Makita Car Vacuum: Which One Sucks More?

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a cordless car vacuum. I've narrowed it down to the DeWalt 20V MAX and the Makita 18V LXT. I've got batteries for both systems, so that's not a factor. I mainly use it to clean out my truck after work, so I need something with good suction and runtime. Anyone have experience with either of these? I've heard the DeWalt is a beast but the Makita is lighter. What's your take?

I've owned the DeWalt for about a year now. It's got great suction for a handheld, but it eats batteries like crazy. I use it with a 5Ah and it lasts about 20 minutes of continuous use, which is fine for a quick clean. The filter is easy to empty, and it comes with a crevice tool and brush. The Makita is probably more efficient, but I'm a DeWalt guy, so I might be biased. Have you checked the actual CFM numbers?

As a contractor, I've used both on job sites. The Makita is definitely lighter and more compact, which is nice for tight spaces. But the DeWalt has a bit more power. However, the real game-changer is the Makita's dust bag system - it doesn't clog as fast. But if you're just cleaning a truck, either will do. I'd say go with whichever brand you have more batteries for, or look into the aftermarket adapters to use your existing batteries.

I'm on a budget, so I got the Hart 20V vacuum from Walmart. It's like half the price of those big names, and it works just fine for my car. But if you're set on DeWalt or Makita, check out the black Friday deals. Sometimes you can get a kit with battery and charger for not much more. Also, don't forget to clean the filter regularly - I learned that the hard way when my suction dropped.
