DeWalt vs Makita for a Car Vacuum - Which One Sucks More?

Alright guys, I need some input. I'm in the market for a cordless car vacuum and I'm torn between the DeWalt and Makita. I've got both battery systems (18V XR and 18V LXT) so that's not an issue. I'll mainly use it for quick cleanups after jobs - dust, debris, maybe some small screws. Which one packs more punch?

I've had the Makita for about 6 months now. It's a beast for its size. The suction is surprisingly strong, but I find the filter clogs up fast if you're picking up fine dust. I've got a little trick: I put a tissue over the filter before use, helps a ton. Also, the crevice tool is a bit short, but you can get extensions. DeWalt's is bigger though, so if you need more capacity, that might be your pick.

I collect both, so I'll chime in. The DeWalt has a slight edge in run time, especially with the 5Ah batteries. The Makita is lighter and easier to handle in tight spots. But honestly, both are solid. I'd say test the grip and the trigger - DeWalt has a variable speed trigger, Makita has a two-speed switch. For a car, I prefer the variable trigger for better control. Also, check the noise level - my Makita sounds like a jet engine compared to the DeWalt.

Both are decent, but I've noticed the Makita feels more rugged, probably because it's made in Japan. My DeWalt has a few more rattles now after a year. But for a vacuum that might get banged around in a truck bed, I'd say either is fine. Just get a soft case for it.
