Hey guys, just saw the ShopVac AutoVac 3000 on sale at Harbor Freight for $49.99 (normally $79.99). I've been wanting a dedicated car vacuum for a while. Anyone have experience with this model? Is it worth it or should I save up for something better? I do a lot of DIY car detailing on the weekends.

I've got the AutoVac 3000 and it's decent for the price. Suction is pretty good, but the hose is kinda short. If you have a big truck or van, you might want an extension. For $50, it's a no-brainer. I use mine for both car and garage cleanup. Just don't expect it to pick up wet stuff, it's dry only.

I'm a Milwaukee guy through and through, so I'd say save your money and get the M12 Fuel vacuum. But if you're on a budget, the ShopVac is fine. My buddy has one and it works okay. Just know that the filter clogs fast if you're doing really dirty cars. Clean it often.

I've been using a ShopVac for years, not that exact model but similar. For $50, you can't go wrong. I've used mine to clean up sawdust, car interiors, and even spilled cereal in the kitchen. Just make sure you get the extra filters. And yeah, the hose is short, but you can buy an extension for cheap. Go for it, Pete. You won't regret it.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I think I'll pull the trigger. I can always upgrade later if I need to. I'll let you know how it works out. Appreciate the help!
