Hey guys, I just snagged a Ridgid 3-gallon wet/dry car vac for 40 bucks at Home Depot. It was a clearance. Anyone used this one? I'm a die-hard Ridgid fan but wanted to hear if its any good for detailing.

40 bucks? That's a steal. Ridgid makes solid vacs, but for car detailing you might want something smaller. I use a Milwaukee Packout vacuum and it's great for tight spaces. But for that price, you can't go wrong.

I've got that exact vac. It's decent for quick cleanups but the hose is a bit short. I rigged up a longer hose from an old shop vac. Works fine. Just don't expect it to be as quiet as a dedicated car vac.

Good to know, thanks. I'll probly use it for workshop messes too. I'm all about that orange. Might try to find a longer hose adapter.

Check out the Ridgid accessory kit – it has a crevice tool and brush that work better for cars. And yeah, you can use a universal hose adapter from Amazon. Post pics when you get it set up!
