My cordless vac won't charge – battery or charger?

Hey all, my cordless car vac (a few years old) just stopped charging. Plug it in, no light. Tried a different outlet, still nothing. Is it the battery or the charger? Any tips to test? Don't want to drop $ on a new battery if it's the charger.

First thing, check the contacts on the battery and charger. Sometimes they get corroded or dirty. Clean them with a bit of isopropyl and a qtip. If that doesn't work, try measuring voltage on the charger with a multimeter. If it's putting out, likely battery. Let us know what you find.

I had the same issue with mine and it was the charger – the cord had a break inside. I'd also check if the battery is swollen or has any cracks. If it's old, it might be dead. But try the cheap fixes first!

If you have a multimeter, test the battery voltage too – should be around 18-20V if it's a 20V max. If it's way low, the battery might have a dead cell. And don't forget to check the fuse in the plug if it's a brick charger. I've seen those pop.
