Shark vs Dyson: Budget Car Vacuum That Packs a Punch?

So I just read that article about the new Shark car vac that's supposedly as good as a Dyson for only $150. I've been using a Dyson for years on job sites, and it's a beast, but pricey. This Shark is tempting. Anyone tried one yet? Looks like it might be my next shop vac for the truck.

I saw that too. I'm just starting out as an apprentice, so I can't drop Dyson money. That Shark sounds awesome. But is it really good on pet hair? My last car vac couldn't handle the dog fur. Might have to check it out.

I've had my Shark for about a month now. Got it on sale. Honestly, it's no Dyson, but for the price, it's a steal. Suction is solid, and the attachments are decent. The only issue I have is the hose is a bit short for the back of an SUV. But for a compact car, it's perfect. Don't expect it to replace a full-size shop vac though.

I'm a woodworking guy, so I don't deal with carpet much, but I have a Shark handheld vac that I use to clean my shop. It's held up surprisingly well. If this car vac is anything like that, it's a no-brainer. I might grab one for the wife's minivan.

Thanks for the input, Hank. Good to know about the hose length. I think I'll give it a shot for the truck. Worst case, I can return it. I'll report back after I put it through some real job-site abuse.
