Hey folks, was at Harbor Freight today picking up some landscape edging and saw their 6-gallon wet/dry shop vac on clearance for $29.99 (normally $59.99). It's the Bauer model, 4.5 HP. I'm thinking of grabbing it for my truck to keep it clean between jobs - anyone have experience with these? Seems like a steal, but you know HF quality can be hit or miss.

DemoDave, for $30 I'd say go for it. I've got one of those in my equipment trailer for quick cleanups after working on the excavator. It's not gonna last forever like a Ridgid or Milwaukee, but for light duty it's fine. Just don't expect it to suck up wet concrete or anything crazy. Mine's held up about a year so far with no issues.

Ugh, shop vacs... I go through them like crazy with drywall dust. That Bauer one is okay for occasional use, but if you're gonna be running it daily, save up for something better. The filters clog fast and the plastic housing cracks if you look at it wrong. But hey, for truck cleanup? Probably fine. Just don't be surprised if it dies in 6 months.

I actually have that exact model! Picked it up last year on similar clearance. It's been solid for my needs - mostly cleaning out the work van and occasional wet leaves from drains. The suction is decent for the price. My only complaint is the hose attachment is a bit flimsy, but for $30 you can't complain. I'd say grab it, DemoDave.
