Hey guys, got a brand new Echo battery chainsaw about a month ago. Used it a few times, but yesterday I went to charge the battery and the charger just blinks red and won't charge. Tried a different outlet, no dice. Any ideas before I have to call support?

Sounds like a bad battery or charger. First thing: check the contacts on both the battery and charger for any dirt or corrosion. Sometimes a little rubbing alcohol on a q-tip does the trick. If that's clean, it could be the BMS tripped. Try leaving the battery off the charger for 24 hours then try again. If still no go, it's under warranty so call Echo.

I've had that happen with my DeWalt. Turned out the battery was just too hot from use. Let it cool down for an hour and it charged fine. Also make sure you're not using an extension cord that's too long or underrated for the charger. Sometimes that causes voltage drop and weird blinking.

Thanks for the tips. I let it cool overnight and still the same. Checked contacts, clean as a whistle. Guess I'll have to call Echo. Hopefully warranty covers it quick, need it for some storm cleanup this weekend.

Yeah, sounds like a defective unit. Echo's warranty is decent, they should send out a replacement no questions asked. Just make sure you have your receipt. Good luck with the cleanup, man!
