Hey everyone, I got a problem with my new-ish electric chainsaw. I charged the battery overnight, but when I pulled the trigger this morning, nothing. No noise, no light. Battery indicator shows full. Anyone seen this before?

Had the same thing happen with my drill last year. Try taking the battery off and pressing the battery button for 10 seconds. Sometimes they go into a safety/sleep mode after a full charge. Let us know if that works.

Also check the contacts on both the battery and the tool. If there's any corrosion or even a bit of sawdust, it can break the connection. Use a dry cloth or a little rubbing alcohol on a q-tip. Don't use metal! Also, some saws have a trigger lock that can get stuck. Make sure the lock is fully depressed.

Good tips. I'll add: if it's cold where you are, bring the battery inside and warm it up. Lithium ions don't like cold. Also, sometimes the charger itself can be the issue. Try a different outlet or see if the charger light is actually solid when you plug it in.

Thanks everyone! I tried Pete's tip with the battery button and it started right up! Must have been in sleep mode. Appreciate the help.
