DeWalt vs Makita Chainsaw: Which One Should I Get?

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new chainsaw. I've been looking at the DeWalt 20V Max and the Makita XCU03. I'm a weekend warrior, just need it for trimming branches and occasional firewood. Which one would you recommend? I've heard mixed things about both.

I've got both in my collection. If you're just doing light work, the DeWalt is lighter and easier to handle. But the Makita has more torque and a better chain brake system. For occasional use, you can't go wrong with either, but I'd lean towards Makita if you want something that'll last longer under harder use.

As a pro, I've used both extensively. For heavy daily use, the Makita is a beast. But for your weekend stuff, the DeWalt is more than enough and cheaper. Just make sure you get the 12Ah battery if you go DeWalt, otherwise it's underpowered. Also, both need their chains sharpened regularly, so invest in a good file.

I just got the DeWalt a few months ago. I'm a newbie, but it's been great for trimming around my yard. One thing: the oil reservoir is a bit small, so you have to refill it often. But that's probably normal. I'd say go with whatever brand you already have batteries for!
