DeWalt vs Makita for a new chainsaw?

Alright folks, I'm in the market for a new chainsaw. I've been looking at the DeWalt 20V Max and the Makita XCU06. I'm not a pro, just do a lot of projects around the house and have some trees to trim. Both seem to have good reviews. Anyone have experience with either? Which one would you go with? I'm leaning towards DeWalt because I already have their batteries, but I heard Makita's are more powerful. Thoughts?

I've been in the trade for 30+ years. For occasional use, both are fine. But if you're already invested in DeWalt batteries, I'd stick with that. No point in buying a new battery system for occasional trimming. Plus, DeWalt has come a long way. I've used the 20V Max and it's surprisingly strong. Makita is great too, but unless you need the extra power for constant cutting, you won't notice the difference.

I've got both actually. The Makita has a bit more torque, but the DeWalt is lighter and honestly more comfortable to handle. The kickback brake is a must-have and both have it. But precision matters – the bar oiling on the Makita is more consistent, and the chain tensioning is easier. I use the DeWalt more for limbing cause it's less tiring. If you're not cutting giant logs all day, go with the DeWalt. Just my two cents.
