Just saw this article about Avista bracing for windstorms. Power outages mean fallen trees. I've already sharpened my chain and checked my PPE. Anyone else prepping their saw?

Yep, I always keep a spare chain and bar oil ready for storms. Had a big oak come down in my yard last year. That's when you appreciate a good pro-grade saw. Stay safe out there.

I'm more of a DIY guy, but I've got my electric chainsaw ready. Prolly not as powerful as your gas ones, but it'll do for smaller limbs. Hope everyone stays safe.

Electric's fine for light work, Sparky. Just remember to keep cords away from the chain! And always wear chaps, regardless of saw type. 3/4 of chainsaw injuries are to the legs.

Speaking of safety, Felix is right. I've seen too many guys skip the PPE. A good helmet with mesh visor and chaps are cheap compared to a hospital bill. Plus, nobody wants to hear about a kickback accident.
