Hey Tool Discount Club fam! Just picked up this beauty - a Stihl MS 261 with a 20" bar. Got it from the club's last flash sale, and man, this thing feels solid. Already fired it up in the backyard (sorry neighbors at 7 PM!). The anti-vibration is legit. So stoked to put it to work. What should my first project be? Thinking maybe clearing some fallen branches from last week's storm, or maybe finally tackling that old oak stump in the yard. What do you all think?

Nice grab, Dan! That MS 261 is a workhorse - we use 'em on site for trimming when the big boys are overkill. For a first run, I'd say go with the branches. Get a feel for the balance and power before you dive into a stump. Stumps can be tricky if you're not used to the saw's kickback. Also, make sure you've got your PPE - chaps, helmet, the whole deal. Safety first, even if it's just 'backyard stuff'!

Ooh, shiny! As a landscape guy, I'm jealous - that'd be perfect for clearing brush on my projects. But listen, if you're doing branches, watch for nails or old fencing wire hidden in there. I've seen too many chains get wrecked by that. Maybe start with some clean, dry wood to break it in? Also, congrats on the buy - the Tool Discount Club deals are killer!

Haha, Dan, I can hear the roar from here! Drywall doesn't need chainsaws, but my hubby's a woodworker and swears by Stihl. His tip: mix your gas/oil right - don't eyeball it! And yeah, start small. My first 'project' with a new tool is usually a test cut on scrap to avoid embarrassing myself. Enjoy it, and post pics of the carnage!
