Volunteer hybrids... what's that gotta do with chainsaws?

Saw the link and gotta say, Randy sounds like a stand-up guy. But what's this got to do with chainsaws? I mean, I'm all for volunteering, but I came here for saw talk. Still, respect to the guy for keeping the pass safe.

Interesting article. I think the point is that volunteers are like 'hybrids' - they fill gaps where pros don't go. I've seen plenty of volunteer trail crews out here, and they often use saws to clear fallen trees. Randy probably gets his hands on a saw pretty often. Good read.

I've done some volunteer work on trails near me. We used chainsaws a lot after storms. It's not just about cutting wood; it's about keeping the path safe for others. Randy's dedication is inspiring. Makes me want to sharpen my chain and get out there.
