Came across this article about Randy Roberts, the unofficial 'Summer Mayor' of Teton Pass. He's a volunteer hybrid - part ambassador, part trail worker. Seems like a cool gig. Anyone have experience with these hybrid volunteer roles? Link: https://example.com

Interesting concept, but I wonder about the liability. If a hybrid volunteer is using a chainsaw or other power tool, who covers insurance? I've seen too many accidents from well-meaning but untrained volunteers. Need clear protocols.

I've worked with volunteer groups on trail crews. Hybrid roles can be effective if the folks are properly vetted and trained. Roberts sounds like a dedicated guy. But from a pro standpoint, you gotta have the right tools and training. Chainsaws ain't toys.

That's awesome! I love seeing volunteers step up. I help with a local park cleanup and we do a mix of manual and power tool work. It's not just about cutting trees; you gotta know when to use the right tool. Anyone have tips for a newbie on trail maintenance with a saw?

Hybrid volunteers can be a huge asset if managed right. I've seen some guys with more skill than some pros. But Sarah's right - liability is a big deal. Make sure everyone has proper PPE and maybe a quick safety course. Roberts doing it for 15 years? That's legit.
