Building a Deck - Cordless or Corded Drill?

Hey everyone, I'm about to start building a 20x12 deck in my backyard. I need a drill for driving tons of screws and maybe some light drilling into concrete for the posts. I'm on a budget, so I want something reliable but not crazy expensive. Should I go cordless or corded? And any specific models you recommend? Thanks!

If you're on a budget, I'd say corded all the way. You get unlimited power and no battery worries. My old corded 10mm drill has lasted years and cost me like $60. For concrete, you'll want a hammer function. I'd look at something like the DeWalt DWD112 or even a generic from Harbor Freight if you're really pinching pennies. Just get good bits.

I hear ya Rick, but cordless is so convenient for a deck. You're moving around a lot, and dragging a cord is a pain. Plus, modern batteries are beasts. For budget, check out Ryobi or even Bauer from Harbor Freight. I got a Ryobi brushless kit with 2 batteries for under $200. It's hammer drill too, so concrete's no issue. Just get a good masonry bit. Don't skimp on that!
