Hey guys, quick safety tip: ALWAYS wear safety glasses when drilling. I know it seems obvious, but I almost learned the hard way yesterday. A bit of metal shrapnel flew right past my eye. Could have been bad. Anyone else have close calls?

Preach it, Bob! I've been doing restoration for 20+ years and I've seen too many folks with metal bits in their eyes. I always double up with glasses AND a face shield if I'm overhead. One time a piece of concrete dust got under my glasses, still stung like crazy.

So true! I also wear a dust mask when drilling into drywall or concrete. That silica dust is no joke. What kind of glasses do you guys use? I have some cheap ones that fog up all the time.

I use anti-fog ones from Amazon, cost like $10. Also, tip: if you're drilling metal, put some cutting oil on the bit to reduce sparks and chips. Stay safe everyone!

Good call on the oil Dave! And Paul, I use those 3M ones with the foam seal, they don't fog as much. Thanks for the tips guys, stay safe out there.
