Just saw this at Home Depot - Dewalt 20V Max brushless drill/driver kit with 2 batteries and charger for $99. Usually $199. I already have a ton of Dewalt tools, but this seems like a steal. Anyone have experience with this model? Is it worth picking up as a backup or maybe gift for my nephew?

I'd check the model number. Dewalt has a few different levels. The atomic series is smaller but less torque. The XR is the pro line. If it's the XR, $99 is a no-brainer. If it's atomic, it's still decent but not as powerful. Also, are the batteries the new powerstack? That would be a huge plus.

I got that kit last month. It's the DCK240C2. It's the brushless compact model, not the XR. Still a solid drill/driver for general use, but don't expect it to drive lags all day. The batteries are the standard 1.5Ah, not powerstack. For $99 it's a good deal, but I'd use it for light work or as a spare. For serious drilling, I'd spend more on the XR.

Thanks for the details! I checked the box - it's DCK240C2, so compact brushless. For $99 I think I'll grab it for my nephew. He's just starting out, so it'll be perfect. Appreciate the help guys!
