Just snagged a Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1/2" hammer drill with a 5.0 battery at Home Depot for $99! It was a clearance item. I mostly do home DIY stuff—should I keep it or return it? Seems like a steal, but I'm not sure if I really need it.

Good price, but I'm strictly DeWalt. My DCD996 has never let me down. Milwaukee's okay, but you'll have to buy into their battery system. If you don't have other red tools, might be more hassle than it's worth. I'd return it and grab a DeWalt deal.

For $99 that's a solid deal! Check the date code on the battery though—some of those clearance units have old batteries that might need replacing. Also, make sure the chuck is true. I always test run out on a rod before committing. But if it's legit, that's a beast of a drill for DIY.

Keep it! I run Milwaukee on my crew and that drill will handle anything you throw at it. Even for heavy remodeling, it's a beast. At $99, you'd be crazy to return it. Just make sure you get a 6.0 battery later for max runtime, but the 5.0 will do fine.

Thanks guys! I think I'll keep it. Checked the battery code—it's from 2022, so not too old. Chuck seems solid. Time to put it to work on my deck project! DewaltDan, I respect the loyalty, but for $99 I couldn't pass it up!
