Found a killer deal on a Milwaukee M18 Fuel drill at Home Depot - worth it?

Hey all, was at Home Depot today and they had the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Hammer Drill/Driver kit (the 2904-20) on clearance for $199 with two 5.0Ah batteries and charger. Normally it's like $350+! It's in the clearance aisle at the back of the store. Is this a legit deal or should I wait for something better? I'm in HVAC and my old DeWalt is on its last legs.

Patty, that's actually a solid find. I see a lot of tools in my home inspections, and Milwaukee's Fuel line holds up well. At $199 with two 5.0s, you're basically getting the batteries for free. Check the manufacture date on the box though - sometimes clearance items are older stock. If it's within a year or two, jump on it. My only gripe is the chuck can get loose over time, but for HVAC work, it'll handle most tasks fine.

As a machinist, I'm picky about tools, but that's a steal. Milwaukee's brushless motors in the Fuel series are efficient and durable. For $199, you're paying about what the batteries alone cost. If it's the kit with the hard case, even better. I'd snag it if I were you - my shop uses Milwaukee for portable stuff, and they rarely let us down. Just make sure it's not a return or refurb being passed off as new.

Larry's right - that's a great price! In landscape architecture, I don't drill much myself, but my crew swears by Milwaukee. The M18 platform is versatile if you ever want to add other tools. At $199, it's a no-brainer if it's new. Check for any damage to the packaging, but otherwise, go for it. Might want to post the store location so others can grab one too!
