Hey guys, I got a new Ryobi 18V impact driver last week. Used it for a few hours, then put the battery on the charger overnight. This morning, the charger light is still red, and the battery won't work. Tried a different battery and it charges fine, so it's not the charger. Any ideas?

Ah man, that sucks! I had a similar thing with a Dewalt battery once. Have you tried resetting the battery? Some batteries have a little button or you can short the terminals with a paperclip (but be careful!). Also make sure the contacts on the battery and charger are clean. Sometimes a lil' dust or corrosion can mess things up.

Ryobi? That's your problem right there. Should've gone with Milwaukee or Makita. My Milwaukee M18 lasts forever. But since you're stuck with Ryobi, check if the battery is still under warranty. Ryobi has a 3-year warranty, so you might just get a replacement. Also, try leaving the battery on the charger for a full 24 hours - sometimes the BMS needs a long reset.

Before you do anything drastic, check the voltage of the battery with a multimeter. If it's below 10V, the charger might not detect it. You can try 'jump starting' it by connecting it to a fully charged battery in parallel for a few seconds. But only do that if you know what you're doing! Also, make sure the charger is not in thermal protect mode - let it cool down.

Thanks everyone! I tried cleaning the contacts and letting it charge for a whole day - still no luck. I don't have a multimeter, but I'll check the warranty and maybe call Ryobi. Appreciate the help!
