CDOT to narrow I-70 through Glenwood Canyon starting March 16

Just saw this. Looks like CDOT is doing some major concrete work. Might be a pain for commuting but better than a bridge collapse. Any of you drive through there regularly?

Ugh, I use that stretch to get to my sister's place in Aspen. Already slow in summer. Guess I'll be taking the long way via Leadville. Anyone know how long this is supposed to last?

I did some work with CDOT a while back. Glenwood Canyon is a nightmare for maintenance. Those retaining walls are old. Better to fix now than have a rock slide shut it down for weeks. Bring snacks and patience.

As long as they're using good tools and materials. I bet they're pouring concrete with some high-psi mix. Hope the crew has proper PPE and safety harnesses working over that canyon. Stay safe out there!
