Found a Ridgid impact driver kit for $99 - worth it?

So I was at Home Depot today and saw a Ridgid R86008K2 kit with two batteries and charger for $99. Regular price is like $199. I know Ridgid has the LSA, but I've never used their impact drivers. I mostly do carpentry and need something reliable. Should I jump on this or is it a piece of junk? I've been a DeWalt guy for years but this deal is tempting.

Honestly, that's a steal. I've used Ridgid's 18V impact driver at a job site before, and it's got plenty of torque for driving screws and lag bolts. The LSA is fantastic - you register it and your batteries are covered for life. Even if it's not top-tier, for $99 you can't go wrong. I'd buy it and use it as a beater or keep in my truck. I'm a DeWalt man myself, but I ain't too proud to own a Ridgid if the price is right.

I've had the Ridgid impact for about 3 years now. I do a lot of restoration work, so it gets banged around and dropped. Still runs like a champ. The two batteries in that kit are the compact ones, but they hold a good charge. Only issue I had was the chuck seemed to loosen over time, but that's any impact driver. For $99, I'd say grab it - you won't regret it. And like Dan said, LSA is worth its weight in gold.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I was a bit worried because I've heard some people say Ridgid is lower quality, but I think they're comparing to the pro brands like DeWalt and Milwaukee. For the price, it's worth a shot. I'll probably register it for the LSA today. Gotta go back before they sell out. Appreciate the input!
