I-70 Glenwood Canyon lane closures: How will this affect your commute?

Man, I saw this coming. They've been talking about fixing that stretch for years. Good on CDOT for finally getting it done, but it's gonna be a pain in the rear for anyone who uses I-70 regularly. I'm just glad I don't have to drive that route for work anymore.

I hear ya, Hank. That canyon is no joke. But you know what? All those closures mean extra time on the road, which means more wear and tear on your vehicle. If you're stuck in traffic for hours, might as well have a good impact driver on hand to fix any loose bolts on your rig while you wait, am I right? 😉

Haha, Tim, you always find a way to bring it back to tools. But seriously, I drive that stretch every weekend to visit my folks. Anyone know if they're doing overnight closures or just reducing lanes? If it's just narrow lanes, I might be okay, but full closures would reroute me way out of the way. Guess I'll be packing my cooler and a book.

I've worked on projects like this before. It's a huge undertaking, and delays are inevitable. But I'm more worried about the potential for rockfalls and other hazards while they're blasting and drilling. That canyon is a geologist's nightmare. They better have some solid safety protocols in place, or it could be a disaster.
