Hey everyone, I've got a DeWalt 20V hammer drill that's about 2 years old. It started stalling whenever I try to drill into hardwood or use a hole saw. Battery shows full charge. Any ideas?

Classic sign the brushes are worn out. If it's a brushed motor, pop 'em out and check. Also clean out the dust inside the chuck area. Could be the gearbox binding too.

DeWalt? Should be built to last. Try a fresh battery first - sometimes the gauge lies. If that doesn't fix it, it's probably a warranty job. Don't void it by opening it up.

Before you go poking inside, unplug that battery and let it sit for a while. Could be thermal overload. Also check the vents aren't clogged. Safety first!

I had the same thing with my Milwaukee. Turned out the clutch was set too low. Check your clutch ring isn't on the lowest setting by accident. Happens to me all the time!
