Anyone else wear safety glasses with grinders? Almost got metal in my eye today!

I was using my angle grinder to cut some rebar earlier, and a piece of metal flew up and hit my safety glasses. Without them, I'd probably be blind in one eye right now. Just a reminder to always wear PPE, even for quick jobs!

Ouch, that's scary! I'm still learning with grinders. What kind of glasses do you use? I have some basic ones, but they fog up a lot.

I always wear a full face shield when using a grinder. Had a wire wheel explode on me once, and the shield saved my face. For glasses, get the anti-fog ones, they're worth it.

I second the face shield. Also, make sure you're using the right guard for the disc. I've seen too many people take the guard off 'for visibility' and regret it.

Good tip about the guard. I use prescription safety glasses that are ANSI-rated. They don't fog up as much. But yeah, face shield is even better for heavy grinding.
