Coffee Grinders or Angle Grinders? Cocoa Prices Got Me Thinking...

So I saw this article about cocoa prices surging. Not sure about you guys, but my first thought was... does this affect the price of my coffee? But wait, this is a power tools forum. Anyway, I figured I'd share and see if anyone here has thoughts on how commodity prices might impact tool costs or something. Or maybe we all just need a coffee break while grinding? lol

Ha, Rick, you always find the weird stuff. Honestly, cocoa prices don't mean much for us, but I did see a spike in steel prices last year that made my metal cutoff wheels jump by a few bucks. Commodities are a wild ride. If you want to talk grinders though, I just picked up the new DeWalt 4-1/2" with the guard that doesn't need a tool to adjust. Thing's a beast.

I'm with Dan. My angle grinder is my second favorite tool after my drill. But hey, cocoa prices for coffee? That hits home because I run on caffeine. Maybe I should start buying futures or something. Bob, you might want to check out the ones from DustBuddy or even a DIY vacuum attachment. I made one from a PVC pipe and a shop vac hose. Works decently. And Dan, that guard sounds sweet—might have to upgrade. But seriously, if cocoa prices are up, does that mean my chocolate bars are next? Maybe I should invest in a candy grinder too! :P

Invest in a candy grinder? That's a new one. I think we're safe for now. But if you're serious about the dust shroud, Bob, look for one with a clear shield so you can see the wheel. I've seen some guys swap brushes and it's a pain. Also, pro tip: always wear a respirator, not just a mask. That dust is nasty.
