Just saw this article about the new Philips Baristina Bar Pro 500. Says it does cold brew in 90 seconds?? That sounds like a gimmick, but I'm curious if anyone here has tried one. My old grinder takes forever to get a decent cup.

Honestly, I collect tools, not coffee makers. But if it's got a decent burr grinder in it, maybe it's worth a look. But 90 sec cold brew? That's nothing like a proper 12-24 hour steep. Bet it's just a concentrate or something. Still, might be handy for a quick fix on a job site.

I'm more about precision in my grind size. If it's a blade grinder, forget it. But if Philips actually put a decent conical burr in there, 90 seconds for cold brew could be a game-changer. I'd need to see the extraction yield and TDS before I'd trust it. Might be overpriced for what it is, though.

Good points, Tim. Maybe I'll wait for the reviews to see if it's just a marketing buzzword or if it actually makes a decent cup. I'm not shelling out $200 for a coffee maker if it's going to taste like drip when I want cold brew.
