Hey folks, just snagged a used DeWalt DWE402 angle grinder off Craigslist for $50. It's in great shape, barely used. I know they go for around $100 new. Is this a steal or did I get ripped off? Anyone have experience with this model?

Steve, $50 for a DWE402 is a solid deal! I've seen them go for $80 used on ebay. As long as the brushes and bearings are good, you're set. I've had mine for 3 years, dropped it a few times, still spins like a champ. Pair it with a good grinding wheel and you'll be set for most projects.

That's a steal, man! I got the same one for $80 on sale at Home Depot and thought I was doing good. Just make sure the guard isn't cracked and the spindle lock works. Also, check the power cord for any nicks or cuts. But honestly, for $50, even if you have to replace a part, it's still cheaper than new.

Thanks for the feedback, Sam and DrillMaster! I already checked the cord and guard, all good. I'll give it a test run this weekend on some steel piping. Appreciate the reassurance!
