Just snagged a Metabo WEV15-125 Quick for $120 at a pawn shop. Barely used, includes a case and a couple of grinding wheels. These go for $250+ new right? Any red flags I should look for?

Great find! Check the brushes and make sure the spindle lock works. Also, test it on a piece of scrap to see if it runs smooth. Metabo's are tanks, but if it's been abused the bearings might be shot. I'd still say it's a steal at that price.

Pawn shops are gold mines. I picked up a DeWalt last year for $80. That Metabo is a beast – you'll love the paddle switch and the brake. Just clean it out and grease the gears if it sounds rough. Nice score, Paul!

Thanks guys! I'll give it a thorough check this weekend. The brake is what sold me – tired of waiting forever for the wheel to stop on my old Makita. Any tips on the best wheels for general metal fab?
