Milwaukee vs DeWalt angle grinders - which one survives the daily abuse?

Hey folks, I'm in the market for a new 4.5" angle grinder and can't decide between Milwaukee's Fuel model and DeWalt's Flexvolt. I do mostly drywall and metal framing - cutting studs, notching, cleaning up welds. Need something that won't quit when I'm covered in mud and dust all day. Anyone using either of these daily? How's the battery life, trigger feel, and overall durability? Price is close enough that I just want the better tool.

Sparky here - I've burned through 3 DeWalts in 2 years on job sites. Switched to Milwaukee Fuel 6 months ago and it's still running smooth even after dropping it off a 10ft ladder (don't ask). The battery lasts through a full day of cutting conduit and boxes. DeWalt feels lighter but the Milwaukee has way less vibration - my hands thank me at 5pm. Only gripe: the guard adjustment is stiffer than my morning coffee.

Roofing contractor chiming in - we abuse grinders cutting flashing and vents all day. Team runs 8 DeWalt Flexvolts and they hold up decent, but we've had 2 motors burn out in heavy rain (supposed to be sealed??). Buddy's crew uses Milwaukees and says they handle weather better. Personally I think DeWalt's trigger has better control for detail work, but if you're just hacking metal all day go Milwaukee. Pro tip: buy the kit with rapid charger or you'll be waiting forever.

Landscape architect perspective - I use mine for stonework and metal sculpture. Tried both; Milwaukee wins for raw power cutting rebar and pavers, but DeWalt balances better for overhead work. If you're doing precision notching for drywall Betty, DeWalt's slimmer grip might help. Both brands' batteries die faster in cold weather (below 40°F) so keep spares warm in your truck. Saw a refurbished Milwaukee on ToolDiscountClub's clearance page last week fyi.
